I have the honour to enclose copy of a letter

dated the 9th May, and enclosure which we have received

from the Foreign Office in support of a claim for

£201.18.2d. (Hong Kong dollars 3230-50 at 1s/3d.), in

respect of expenditure incurred in connection with the

accommodation in Hong Kong of refugees of non-British

nationality evacuated from China, and to enquire whether

the Secretary of State approves of this amount being paid

to the Foreign Office from Hong Kong funds.
